I taught myself to weave pine needle baskets in 2020 when I was surrounded by ponderosa pines in northern Idaho. I still collect some ponderosa needles in Washington east of the cascades, but I mostly forage long leaf pine needles in Florida. I often weave while on the beaches of Whidbey. I use a waxed linen thread to weave my baskets and finish them in local beeswax
