Ellen Rose

I am a ceramic artist and live just north of Coupeville. I currently exhibit and sell my art at Penn Cove Gallery and at the Whidbey Clay Center Gallery in Freeland. I also do a few holiday markets on the island every year. My ceramic art is inspired by many years of hiking and kayaking here and in New Zealand where I lived for about 18 years. The work features plant life and wildlife such as orcas, octopus, eagles, humpback whales, tidal pools, sea shells, and seals. I also do local scenes on oval or rectangular platters. All pieces are hand built and fired twice.
